Molecular Motors

This is scientific animation which I have created with Tomasz Lechociński for the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences ichf.edu.pl Molecular motors tested at the Institute are composed of dozens of atoms of molecules of liquid crystal SmC *. They form the equivalent of a propeller biplane charges of varying length. When evaporating water molecules strike the "propeller" asymmetry makes the whole chain begins to spin around their "anchor".
